Traffic rules in Turkey

AnasayfaYazılarTraffic rules in Turkey

Turkey has a number of toll roads, and drivers are required to pay the tolls using a special transponder card. There are a few different types of cards, and the type of card you need depends on the toll road you're using. You can purchase a transponder card at any of the toll booths.

In addition to the toll roads, there are also a number of highways in Turkey. The speed limit on these highways is 90 kilometers per hour (56 mph). The speed limit on other roads is 50 kilometers per hour (31 mph), unless otherwise posted.

Turkish drivers tend to be aggressive, so it's important to be aware of your surroundings and to use the horn sparingly. In general, it's a good idea to use the horn only when you really need to, and to use it in short bursts.

When driving in the rain, it's important to use your headlights and to be aware of the hydroplaning risk.
